2016 Dental Clinics — April 23-25 & October 1-3
Free Dental Clinics are one of the most practical outreaches of Kentucky Mountain Mission. Twice a year, the gymnasium at Youth Haven Bible Camp is transformed as groups from Virginia and Michigan come to share the love of Jesus in a powerful way. Services include examinations, cleanings, fillings and extractions. Every patient that comes through the door meets with a trained counselor and is presented with the gospel message. New Testaments and other materials are given to the patients who get a visible illustration of Christianity in action. A number of people have accepted Christ as their Savior at these clinics and our community has been greatly touched.
Please pray for this ministry. Also, pray with us concerning the possibility of a more permanent facility for the Dental Clinics. The equipment is stored throughout the year and must be set up in the camp gymnasium for the fall and spring clinics. A permanent structure would make it possible to provide services throughout the year, as volunteers were available.

KENTUCKY MOUNTAIN MISSION DENTAL CLINIC by Barbie Porter
“So built we the wall, and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof; for the people had a mind to work.” – Nehemiah 4:6
The mountainous range of Beattyville, Kentucky has been the home of Youth Haven Bible Camp (an outreach of Kentucky Mountain Mission, Inc.) since the summer of 1948. In the summer months it’s a busy, bustling camp filled with kids and counselors. In the off-season, it’s the host to several retreats for the young to the young-at-heart. But twice a year, the spacious gymnasium centrally located within the camp, transforms into a free dental clinic, provided by the generosity of people of the dental community and others who desire to put a smile on the faces and hearts of the people of Eastern Kentucky.
On Saturday, April 14, the KMM Dental Clinic doors were scheduled to open at 8:30 a.m. However, an unexpected April shower prompted Kentucky Mountain Mission Director, William Owens, to allow entry around 8:00. Quickly, chairs full of soon-to-be patients formed a human chain around the perimeters of the gym, while still others clung close against the outside of the building waiting to step inside.
